I'm wondering how much this team has improved

since the loss at Notre Dame. They've played 13 games since then, and just about everyone since then has slowed down the game to run clock and they've done their best to limit SU's point's in transition. A lot of teams have played some zone. SU has had plenty of opportunity to work out the most effective way to deal with this strategy.

Today the final 2:40 of the game left me wondering if any of these kids even listen to JB. So many times when he addresses them on the sidelines it looks like they are tuning him out. But that seems impossible until Scoop makes another ridiculous decision. He's a 5th year senior! Dion fouls someone taking a 3 pt shot. Scoop throws a ridiculous pass across the court to a covered teammate on the UNC Asheville side of the court. Dion fouls again. Where is the senior leadership? It goes on and on.

I keep hoping to see signs of improvement.

This is not about basketball fundamentals.

It's great, but it's definitely never been about basketball fundamentals.

Watching Scoop today dribble at the top of the key more or less standing still for about 10 seconds and then step forward and shoot a 3-pt shot I thought I was watching the NBA. Guess what, the defender was playing off for a reason. He's seen the tape, and he's willing to give you that shot. You had to do absolutely no work to get the shot...that should tell you something.
