this has been my favorite part so far...2 weeks ago (maybe more), most people had never heard of most of these guys. Now they're either the savior or an abject failure. My second favorite part is the tea leave reading on the Frost contract situation.

I know this thread turned into a jokey thread, but honestly...I could not be a coach. I don't nearly know enough about scheme, and I probably couldn't recruit my own kid, but when it comes to the basics...when to punt, when to go for it, when to take a TO. These are all easy decisions that anybody with common sense can make. You don't need to be a coach to use common sense and some statistics.

Also, I could never be a AD. I can't fund raise and pay attention to all these different sports, but it is pretty easy to get the pulse of your fanbase, check out different coaches, see what they have done and make a fairly reasonable decision on who would be a good coach FOR YOUR program.

You're right - 100 different threads talking about someone turning their tickets in if we hire x guy, being done with the program if we hire x guy, flying off the handle because what is reported in the PS is gospel, how they're smarter than the AD, their expertise on what does and does not happen during negotations and HR searches...far better.

This board isn't even readable right now.

What is a perfect board? When there is news and different opinions, things may go haywire. But is the perfect board mid May when there is zero going on and there is a few prediction threads, a few X team to the ACC threads?

I think the mods do a great job of removing the complete nonsense posts or threads but the emotions are running high. I'm an educated person and i'm not disgusted by some of the redundancies or people's gut reactions to rumors.
