In the modern college basketball era post-1985 what is the greatest single game performance by an SU player?

It’s a good question.
Melo vs. Texas 2003 is my answer.

Demetris Nichols had a game vs. St. John's his senior year.

Allen Griffin was pretty dominant as well in his triple-double game.

Two games that people forget come to mind ..Otis hill had a game at Bama I think where he was just unstoppable …

And southernland had a nonconference road game at some big 12 or sec school where he went berserk

Think game was at Arkansas

Fun question, the best have already been named, but Roberson grabbing 20 rebounds at Duke was pretty impressive.
DC’s 19 bounds against a sturdy IU front line in April of 1987. He was so good, Rony only had two that night.

Those were the days many teams, including ours, played two bigs. Real basketball.

Just a question, what makes 1985 the cutoff year for the modern era?

From a shooting perspective Gillon vs NC State is up there
I remember I was watching this game on a flight. When the game started, barely anyone had it on their screens. By the end, everyone was cheering and praying the feed didn't go out

Sure, it was a regular season game, but 9-10 from 3P and 14-14 from the line is unreal

Melo v Texas. That Texas team was really good (stacked with very good college players) and Melo straight up tooled with them in every way possible.

And to do it on that stage as a frosh was just incredible.
