It seemed like a dream finish with all four cars in contact with each other with 3 laps to go. Dario Franchitti, who was not among them, hit the wall and the race ended under caution, where nobody can pass anybody. NASCAR and other circuits use a system sometimes called "Overdrive" to ensure the race with be a race at the end but Indy has not adopted this rule. One issue is gas, which is specifically calibrated to cover a certain number of miles. Maybe the answer is to just send everybody to the pits when the yellow flag comes out, (where they can refuel). Don't count the caution laps at all.
