Face-offs were even most of the game, so each team had their chances to possess the ball and had their chances on goal. Cade Stratton (Marquette) sealed the game in overtime from a feed from Gavin Garrity-Rokous (Georgetown). Stratton had two goals and an assists. Another notable from the Beasts was Jonathan Huber (St. John's), who tallied a hat trick from the attack and led the team with those three goals. The defensive unit stepped up big at different points throughout the game, making crucial stops. LSM Chris Walker (Georgetown) and Defenseman Dinio Cijuste locked down the Coastal Patriots on offense most of the game, and Gabe Stein made an impressive save in the overtime period to give the Beasts another chance to seal the game. On the other side, the Coastal Patriots had a balanced attack throughout the game. They had eight different point scorers, all tallying one point. Connor Morin (Notre Dame) had a nifty backhand finish in the first half after splitting his defender from X. The impressive team performance continued throughout the game at the hands of midfielders Parker Alexander (North Carolina) and Chris Merle (Lafayette), who both had a goal. Two helpers came from Davis Allen and Arden Cohen, two players headed to South Bend in the fall. No team held more than a one goal lead in the second half, which increased the competitive edge throughout the ladder part of the game, making for a very exciting overtime finish. Lafayette-bound Chris Merle (Westhampton Beach, N.Y.) and Notre Dame-bound Davis Allen (Pelham Memorial HS, N.Y.) were able to find the back of the net on step down rips from the outside for those extra man tallies. A pair of big, future ACC attackmen lead the way for for the Coastals / Patriots team. Syracuse-bound Owen Seebold (Highland Park, Texas) opened up the scoring sweeping left off a pick and burying a shot to the back of the net. He then found Notre Dame commit Connor Morin (Morristown Beard, N.J.) for the games second goal. Morin lead all scorers with a pair of goals and three assists and scored or assisted on four of his teams’ five second half goals. The Gentlemen got a pair of points from three players, including a pair of future Jacksonville Dolphin midfielders out of Texas, Cody Foster (Plano West, Texas) and Jeremy Winston (Parish Episcopal, Texas). Foster found the back of the net twice on unassisted dodges including a backhand finish and Winston had a goal and a assist in addition to creating a fast break goal.
