Final 15

I live in CT. A little bewildered why there aren’t more CT kids at Cuse.

11 seniors from Greenwich, CT are headed to Syracuse in the fall, so not like it’s all Fairfield County heads to Duke/Ivys, etc.

Completely wild to rank Staples #1.
Not really. The FCIAC was easily the best public conference in the nation, and they beat everyone but Darien during the regular season. Also blow torched a solid Bronxville team and roughed up the MA state champion St. John's Prep.

And then cherry on top in the state championship they gave Darien its worst beating in program history. And a very good Darien team at that (wins over St. Anthony's, Chaminade, Manhasset, with a tight loss at Brunswick).

Yup... CT has produced a ton of talent and still doesn't get the recognition it deserves.

I watched FCIAC lax all season. Watched Staples’ Darien win and Wilton loss the week or 2 before. They deserve to be #1 in CT after winning states. Don’t think they are the best public in the country.

I honestly don't think there's really even an argument that it could be anyone else based on merit. Darien had unquestionably the best resume of any public, but Staples just thrashed them in the state title so it can't be them.

For the LI trio, it has to go CSH > GC and Manhasset based on head-to-head, and CSH's resume does not stack up to Staples. Outside of those rivalry wins, CSH really just has a one goal win over Briarcliff, and comfortable wins over down Syosset, Huntington and Yorktown teams. The beatdown of Darien is one of the top 5 most impressive wins any team had nationally this year, and is bolstered by wins over Wilton, New Canaan, Greenwich, and Ridgefield (point of reference: CSH beat Briarcliff 8-7 and lost to Rye 7-3, while Ridgefield beat them 19-7 and 15-4 respectively), and OOC beatings of Bronxville (similar caliber to Briarcliff), St. John's Prep (MA D1 camp) and Bishop Guertin (NH D1 champ). They have two more losses than CSH, but none of them are worse than CSH's loss, and the wins more than outweigh those extra losses.

Victor beat #10 Baldwinsville, but had that unfortunate loss to Canandaigua in the section V playoffs. Hard to see putting a California team with 3 losses and the NJ team with 5 losses in front of them.

Other than Baldwinsville, who did Victor beat that mattered? Haven't made the sectional finals in class B in two years. Tons of talent but not a top 15 HS program.

What are the great wins for Corona Del Mar or Rumson-Fair Haven?

Yeah, a persons gotta wonder why they were included. However, Victor still isn't a Top 15 team. I would have included teams like Riverside (VA) or Longmeadow (MA) or even Middle Creek (NC)

Victor is definitely a top tier team, sectional upset notwithstanding (and they are going to be even better next year). However, Rumon-Fair Haven deserves their ranking for having made the TOC final in NJ. That's no watered down state title game; that's the end all be all. Such a shame that the state administrators are doing away with the best state tournament in high school lacrosse.

In my short time of following the sport, it's abundantly clear that two things lead to success - money and culture. Both require a significant "investment." You can be really good if you have a lot of one or the other, but the elite areas and programs have both. It's not a surprise that the Gold Coast is rising to the top.
