Full control of the ball and 3 steps isn't the process?

The officials gave an explanation after the game. They did not believe he had full control of the ball — likely due to Ross’ left hand not fully securing the ball. There are articles everywhere if you want to read the post game verbal explanations by the officials.

I agree with you. I think the one thing we can all agree on is if Syracuse was Ohio State, everyone would be irate at the targeting call and consider this play a fumble and be throwing out conspiracy theories.

Not on the targetting call - that was pretty clear and according to the rule. There really shouldn't be any daylight on that kind of potentially career ending play. IMO.

and we have 2 games today with blown replay calls.. The Illinios had a huge fumble that they just didnt bother to even review and then Virginia has a pretty clear fumble that even the replay specialist sounded like he wanted to say it was a bad call but didnt want to affend whoever the replay dude was by saying it was bad,

both calls made a difference in these games..

i still dont get why coaches and players get asked the tough questions and the leagues and officials can just hide behind the mistakes
