That's what the end of this recruiting period was.

The biggest issue on this program was overall team speed at this point. GM was able to get kids to come here that improve the single biggest area that was still a real struggle for Marrone. Just my opinion, but I'll take that trade.

IMO Doug and Greg had taken their approach, and it was the right one for the program as they found it, about as far as they could. I have no idea, and nobody else does either, what they would have done going forward, but regardless this transition is happening at the right time for the program, and should be a net positive for the program.

As far as losing kids, it's about the same amount as last year if I'm not mistaken.

that's a good spin to put on it, and I think the new staff did a great job given the late time frame and the hand they were dealt

but the bottom line right now is that SU lost out on some kids they wanted to some programs that I don't like at all, so I'm going to continue to bitch about it for the next hour or so and then I'll get over it and focus on the quality depth that they added in several key positions and how excited I am for the upcoming spring practice and 2013 season

We will get caught up on the last second things that went or, mostly, didn't go our way. And none of us were seeing the texts or in the living rooms, but seems like we have an enthusiastic approach to recruiting that will pay off next year and forthcoming years to come.

I do not think we should worry about this year whatsoever even though we lost out on Malik, Gus and Laray in the stretch.

Onward.

Agreed. We pulled in some decent classes, and even the last staff would've been fighting some uphill battles in terms of holding off SEC level schools. Hell, we pulled in some kids, or were at least in the game with some, that the last staff didn't have on their radar. I see some interesting- and very good- times ahead.

Here's hoping this current staff can really make some progress, make serious inroads in NY/NJ/PA, and stay intact for a half a decade or so. If all of that falls into place, I will supply 5 cases of beer for the fine mess and stop making juvenile comments about PeteCalvin's mother.
