Villanova at home vs. USF

while Providence is 0-3 and many projected them for the bottom of the BE this year, I think they are better than advertised. So, who is the worst team in the BE? Will it be DePaul once again?

I think it just might be the loser of tonight's game, and I think that might be Nova. They don't have any really terrible losses, outside of that one point loss to Santa Clara, but the losses are mounting nonetheless. I think this is an absolute must-win for Jay Wright.

I'd say Depaul from what I've seen to date. 'Nova imo is better than their record indicates, lost some games they could've just as well have won...

I am not sure who is in worse shape. Nova or Xavier. Nova is in deep trouble and they need a win desperately. Especially with us on their calendar in a week. Jay Wright has his hands full. The cupboard is getting pretty bare. After all those years of having loaded teams the recruiting has hit the skids.

Iwill be rooting for USF.

By the way, speaking of interesting games and Depaul. Pitt at Depaul tonight and to me it looks like a tougher than expected matchup for Pitt. I could see Depaul turning them over quite a bit as Pitt doesn't handle the ball all that well.

I know they worked Providence over but St. Johns is very thin and not very good.

I am very curious to see how Pitt comes out tonight. I expect that Dixon will have them ready to play but man would I love to see the Blue Demons give them another L.

nothing has changed with the recruiting, they have tons of talent just way under performing. as a team they are shooting 30% from 3 and that is very un-nova like

they are very young, they start 3 juniors, but after that they have a sophmore and all frosh

I disagree. The 2009 class of Yarou, Wayans, Cheek and Armwood was touted as a top 5 class. Armwood has since left the program which hurt them. The other 3 are decent players but not a top 5 class level in hindsight. In 2010 and 2011 they didnt even make the top 25 as far as recruiting classes go so they definitely have not gotten the high level talent the past couple of years.

Look at the players that we have brought in and the ones that they have brought in and its not even close. With that said I do agree with you that they are underperforming.

this still baffles me because he left because of playing time, but as far as I can tell he would be playing like 30 mins a game this year

Crazy. I agree.

I think DePaul will win at least 5-6 conference games this year. They are nowhere near as bad as they've been in the past.

Reminds me of the highly rated class we had from 2003 (TRob, Watkins, Nichols, McCroskey) that never really panned out.

I just threw up in my mouth...

Rutgers. They are horrible. St. Johns second for me.

In addition to losing Armwood to transfer, they also lost Savon Goodman (#53 - '12) who had committed, but then decomitted. They were set up to have a pretty impressive class this year before that I think many people thought that Amille Jefferson (#36 - '12) might follow Goodman to Nova, which doesn't appear likely anymore. Even without those two, their 2012 class is still on par with our class. They have Daniel Ochefu (#29 - 2012) and Ryan Arcidiacono (#64- 2012).

Not sure if it is all just a hiccup, or there is something bigger going on there in terms of the transfer and decommit as well as the swan dive at the end of last season and poor performance so far this season.

boom

Jay Wright has 2 straight late season collapses and now the worst team in the league

is the bloom finally off that rose?

Jay Wright is now 12-19 in his last 31 games.

Just amazing. When this thread started 12 hours ago.... who would have thought that both Pitt and Nova would have lost tonight? Just amazing.

I'll go with

14) Pitt
15) St John's
16) Nova

That looks crazy and probably won't happen but it's at least possible.

Oops ... down goes Pitt. Depaul isn't looking bad this year and our 19 pt win is looking really solid. Pitt and Villanova just don't look the same as they have in the past.
