Lots of things I think we knew, things we weren't sure of and the jury still may be out on.

Gillon - Color me impressed. Is a 5th year guy, looks very fluid bringing the ball up the court and makes decisions seniors make. He probably should play 30+ minutes a game. He's just too far ahead of Frank.

Howard - Pretty much the opposite of what I saw of Gillon. Looks like his free throw shooting has improved though. Just seemed out of control and trying to go way too fast. Not sure how many official turnovers he had but I'm guessing it's around the same amount of his assists.

White - Doesn't take a HOF coach to tell the guy can shoot. Looks very fluid on his shots, only issue I see with him is he doesn't seem to like the pass the ball. At all.

Battle - Wasn't expecting a lights out performance from 3 like he showed off, but even without the lights out performance you can just tell the guy is oozing talent. Can't wait to see what he brings to the table this year.

Lydon - We know who and what he is. He had some nice rebounds and some post moves, but against this team it's really not that impressive. He had a poor game honestly but we know he'll probably be our best player this season.

Roberson - Started off extremely slow, second half he seemed like the Roberson vs. Duke beast. If he gets the minutes, I think he can legit average a double double.

Thompson - A lot further along than I thought, well, at least against this team. I like him, actually liked him better than our two other centers today

Moyer - Needs to redshirt. Didn't look like he belonged on the court.

DC/72 - Going to lump these guys together. DC looked solid on offense at times, which he should, this game is a perfect one for him to succeed in. But in all reality, he literally would give up a bunny every time he scored. His defense is just so bad it's to the point I don't think he should be on the court. 72, possibly has worse hands than BMK and Trob. He has an obvious presence on the court but his movement isn't good. Have a feeling by the end of the year we see Lydon playing a bulk of the minutes at the spot freeing up more minutes for Battle and White.

It was nice to see the press throughout the game, needs some work but for as early as it is and so many new guys, its enough for me to get excited about. JB has some work to do but this is the best collection of talent I've seen on a Syracuse team since 2012. Should be a fun ride, maybe a tad frustrating at times, but it will be fun and I think we're going to have a lot of success this year.

Gillon looks like a man on a mission. Fully sold on his ability to be the general on the court.

Edit:

What impressed me most was that it's nearly obvious that HE KNOWS he can hit the three if he wants to. I could tell that after he hit his last basket in the last 2 minutes, the expression on his face told it all. He knows he can hit the big basket need be, but is a floor general first and creates open looks for his teammates. Love it.

Great thing about this team if that if Robey is "switched off", he won't play. Then when he got out there in the second half after playing so little in the first half, he went nuts.
