Is all this Frost talk coming from our board insiders?

Agree. We are pretty sure Frost is interested, the question is how much. Check those flight tracking sites tomorrow...

We would need a Tail number from a private plane. SU surely doesnt have one. Big Donor lending the University one?

No you are right we probably don't. Let's hope for the donor otherwise we can't play sleuth and what fun is that?

Thats a tough commercial flight. Eugene to SFO or LAX, then onto somewhere in the midwest, Chicago/Detroit, then to Syracuse lol

The athletic department paid for a private jet to bring Jim Brown and his family from LA to Syracuse for the ceremony at the IPF. I assume they would do the same thing for Frost.

Yeah Frost will get off at O Hare and take the next flight back home!

In person is the best but I know in the past we have done interviews off campus such as the Philadelphia airport. First interviews might also be done via live meeting.

Who says the interview would be here? It wouldn't be unusual for the AD to fly out to Oregon and make the offer. I know some would argue Frost needs to see the campus, meet the players, etc. but, in reality, that's not necessary.

For anyone who thinks this search just started 4 days ago couldn't be more wrong.

Absolutely. Contingency plans for new HC hire, including a list of viable candidates, were vetted during the AD interview process. Coyle is not starting from ground zero.

Well that maybe the case becuase Oregon is home today, and flightaware has no scheduled flights between EUG and SYR (reverse route included).

There are people who think things just got started, might hire a search firm, Coyle is compiling ideas, etc.

Honestly I believe that hiring a firm at this point, or even just compiling ideas (after firing the HC) means they have not thought this thing out. I feel that they should have had a plan and targets in place once, or even before they fired HCSS. If they didn't, then HCSS should still be the HC. Just my opinion.

To be clear, I think they have been proactive and trust the insiders who say Frost will be named HC if he wants the job.

Remember, just because a search firm hasn't been announced, doesn't mean that one hasn't been hired... possibly even 4-6 weeks ago.

That is always possible, but I think it would have been leaked by now. I'm purely guessing here.

Mark could be using the same backdoor-channels/search-methods that Kent used to find him. Coyle's name didn't appear until a day, or so, before he was introduced as the new AD. I prefer this quiet, efficient, method over the public, drama-laden, method used by others.

And I'm about 90% sure this is precisely what's been happening, based on what I've heard.

Good point - Kent used a search firm (different so far from this search) but the name never surfaced.

That's your assumption.

An agent/agency/search-firm put out the initial feelers to gather possible candidate interest... at least to round out field. We'll likely never know how it all went down, unless Mark tells us that "Coach X was my number 1 target... I've known him for 8 years, I called him one day and next thing you know he's here".

If the interviews take place this weekend then this could be done by Monday or Tuesday. I hope so, at least.

Yes, I am making that assumption and could be all set. Edit meant all wet!
