Is Dungey all in with HCDB?

Hardly anyone transfers with a coaching change, no matter how much players behind closed doors said as much when it was a hypothetical. Some are told flat out they won't play or fit the system, so you get a few. When reality hits, they stay. Especially a qb who has earned the #1 spot on a D1 team. That's not easy and the idea of sitting out a full season brings them to reality fast. ED will be all in, imo.

I always felt this way but there are coaches who like t clean house so to speak. Not sure how many transferred but I'm pretty sure Marrone 'lost' like 15-20 kids in his transition. Think edsall to MD encountered a similar exodus.

Honestly, if he really wants to continue playing for the next 3 years AND IF he has had two concussions, he might consider transferring to another school that does not have the same 3 and out policy we do. Now would be the time to do it. He will certainly get offers and probably closer to home.

I have heard two different takes on his parents - his parents were were supportive of Shafer's decision to keep Eric in the game and another that says they were furious. Who knows?

Yeah, but that was the coach doing it, like I was saying a few might be told they won't fit or play. I think the kids in place are in a better way than a lot of the kids Marrone got rid of. I'm mostly talking a kids choice to leave because of a coaching change. Rare if they're already a starter.

I'm sorry, but I couldn't disagree more with it "saying a lot about the player." I absolutely will never knock a kid for being loyal to a coaching staff, as much as I want Dungey to stay at SU. Saying that it "says a lot" about him insinuates there's a lack of character, or something else along those lines, and that's 100% unfair.

Rumor is there may be a chance he stays, he has a relationship with HCDB. Jek put the possibility at 60%, at least I think it was him.

His parents were supportive. That comes directly from them.

I'd be extremely disappointed if Dungey left. He has showed signs this year of being our best QB since McNabb. I think he would be awesome in Dino's offense. Yea, we have some good QBs coming in next year but ya never know how they will pan out. As cuse fans, we know how difficult it is to get a legit QB..with Dungey, when healthy, is a legit QB.

Agreed. Dungey could be successful in several offenses. But he seems like he would be a great fit for Babers'.

I see what you're getting at Jek, but honestly there wasn't anyone in this thread who claimed to know everything or anything about these exact kids, and what they'll actually do. A lot of guessing, wondering, might's and maybe's and imo's. I added my 2 cents as I've been involved in this exact type of situation, and am familiar with others. Me personally, I was just trying to add perspective from my view I guess.

Yes, that is mean spirited and completely unnecessary. Great kid and a warrior. Whatever he decides I will be rooting for him.
