not sure why people are calling this game such an upset.
its pretty clear that fgcu is more than likely the best 15 seed of all time. They were the better team tonight with better athletes.
similar to vermont-cuse. vermont was no 13 seed that year. fgcu was no 15 seed.
I'm struggling to figure out what the other biggest upset was...mainly because Gtown gets upset so much in the NCAA tourney. Too many choices.

It was a huge upset. Maybe FGCU was better than a 15, but a couple seed spots still says a 2 seed who was in the 1 seed discussion should easily beat them.

The most important takeaway here for the SU program, and for JB in particular, is that FGCU played this game, from start to finish, with confidence, aggression, and swagger. This was no upset. FGCU played like they knew they were going to win this game - every possession, every shot, every rebound, every defensive matchup. This is how the game is won. SU too often retreats into a fearful shell where they are hesitant, relenting, overthinking, passive, risk-averse. You have to play the game to WIN with aggression, confidence, and swagger, which is entirely different than playing not to lose. JB, please take note.

Hugely disagree if you watched the game at all. True, I knew very little about FGCU before the game, but after a few minutes it was pretty clear who was going to win. FGCU took it to them from start to finish, and it was a masterful thing of beauty to watch, and not just because it was against Georgetown. Give me a good team playing with aggression, confidence, and swagger against a supposedly great team playing back on their heels anytime, anywhere.
