Is their a worse 3rd and long D than Syracuse?

I just said in the game thread, we must lead the nation in 3rd and longs given up, its pathetic.

We must be close to the top in the % of running plays that get 1 yard

I think we ask this question every year :bang:

Today was also the fact third and longs turned into fourth and shorts and they got them

We make plays on first and second down and then always give up back breaking 3rd down conversions.
It has been like this for a really long time.

To answer your question in the thread title...Uh no!!! :(:(:(:mad::mad::bang::bang::bang:

The cushions Brian Ward has been using in this defense is just unreal. It is so easy on figuring out where the pass play is going to against this defense. There is always one receiver where our defender is giving what seems like a 15 yard cushion. One play later in the 2nd. half no. 1 had no one on him him as he ran across the middle and Bennet had to come from the opther side of the field to dive at the very last second to tip the ball. Their q.b just made a very late throw there.

The third down nickel formation coupled with the what appears to be a soft zone makes my head hurt. 3 down lineman weren't getting enough pressure today. It just seemed so obvious that it wasn't working, not sure why no adjustments were made.

That is my one gripe for today. Other than that I thought the coaches did a good job getting the players that were healthy in a position to win.

Our front four can't put any pressure on the quarterback. I don't care who's playing DB. You can't give the QB all day to throw and expect our guys to cover them.
