Every time we tackled through the runner/receiver/quarterback. We were even laying out guys on special teams. You have to give credit to Brown though. He took a lot of punishment.

Good job by Maryland limiting the hits on Brown. NOT!

Brown got lit up all day. Tough kid, because he was harassed.

Definitely the most hardnosed.

Northwestern, Clemson and GA Tech would argue that this is not the hardest hitting team in Syracuse history and as someone who watched those games, I'd tend to agree.

Don't get me wrong, they're pretty tough... But those early Pasquiloni-era teams with Kevin Mitchell and Dan Conley and Donovan Darius hit harder if only because they didn't get blown out 3 times in one season.

Does everyone forget we had a defense in 1959 that allowed only 73 points in 11 games and which Lee Corso called the best team/defense he has ever seen?

If my memory is correct that team held opponents to minus yards rushing for the season.

LOL. Just because you're a big shot journalist now (Congratulations by the way) you don't need to be a contrarian. What I'm remembering is all the bad tackling teams we've had over the last years. They've been getting better and better under Schaeffer. I only remember the one whiff in this game (by Eskridge).

Ha...well, I'd say they hit hard, but certainly I would rank the 2001 team ahead of them too. And what was it, 3 years ago when we beat KSU in the Pinstripe that our D was ranked in the top 10 nationally, or something like that?

(Also thanks!)

Darius concussed at least 4 players his senior season. Defense tackled great today. I thought Maryland was wimpy.
