The pinstripe bowl was being shown on the screen in the back court before the basketball game for a little while, but at 6:10, still a full 50 minutes before tip, it was turned off.

Why?

Because the 10-15k Syracuse fans who refuse to support an emerging football program demanded it to be turned off.

The same guy who stays home on Saturdays to rake leaves asked for it to be turned off.

How dare a guy like Nassib take some of the attention away from MCW. Especially because MCW is such a great role model.

Heard on Saturday that ESPN demanded it be shut off--that it had something to do with exclusivity and advertising--and that Dome officials complied.

Didn't Siena try to play a Giants game on a screen while they played last year?

many places seem to get away with it, but there does seem to be some issue with doing it that stops it.. I thought it was a local cable carrier thing.. maybe someone needs to do a story on when ESPN wants to shut down this type of stuff or it could be some other entity that thinks it causes them to lose money stopping it.
