Isn't it great?

How about the mvp Napier? Now that's a little more on track of what I was talking. And you're whole team doesn't always have to be from there to buy into a brand and style.
Doesn't Kentucky play enough Northeast- style for you? Apparently being from there is not a prerequisite

Well yeah, that's why I mentioned Roxbury, who was their leader? Like I said in the last post, your whole team doesn't have to be from there to buy in. Stevie Thompson? And he fit the mold just fine. But generally speaking I root for NE schools, so what? Ask CJ who he was rooting for, and Moten? Yeah, I guess they need to turn in their jerseys...
Can't mention players...they root for friends, not the jersey. CJ probably doesn't know any of the UK kids, and played against Napier for 3 years.

Wes Johnson was rooting for uconn tonight (the old big east) according to his Facebook

I literally cannot fathom how this season ended. How in the hell did the team that lost to Houston in front of 3 people win the title?
You should have seen Houston that game. Made a bunch of ridiculous 3's

Randle, and both Harrison twins were brought up on the same kids bball team by a millionaire. Now...I'm not totally saying it's all wrong. Ennis' dad and the other guy whose name I can't remember put money in and grew a successful AAU team. I'm just giving credit where I consider what I relate to. Most players that have played at "old" BE schools are from the NE and I support them first. Dakari Johnson is the only one that really plays on UK that is from the NE.

Exactly the point! NE kids relate to NE kids...

NBA playoffs start soon. Tune in.

Best of 7 series, the best team wins 95% of the time. In the tournament, single elimination is full of luck/hot teams/matchup, as well as talent/"peaking" at the right time. It's what makes it great that also makes it terrible.

The NCAAT is like the NFL playoffs not the NBA playoffs, you win one game, you advance. Every system has it's pluses and minuses, I like the NCAAT as it is.

So Kentucky had just as many Northeast guys as UConn...

No, players relate to players they know. You think that is unique to Northeast?
Wow...So players only relate and everybody else roots for someone across country whose style and places they haven't a clue?? Got it..

I'd love to keep having a pissing contest with you, but you obviously don't get what I'm talking about and that's fine...So you don't see a brand of basketball that UConn plays huh? Doesn't have any similarities of Kemba's team huh? Or Pearl's or Sherms or Flynn's?

I hope UConn winning is everything you dreamt it to be...must be proud.

I do, but you need to put the best interest Syracuse first...Uconn winning isn't it.

At one time a long time ago I would have rooted for UConn as a Big East team. That all changed once I had the misfortune of visiting the Boneyard after ACC expansion.

What would have been great would have been to see Syracuse win it and 2nd if Wichita State would have won it. A mid - major winning it would have been something.

Over fuktucky, yes, yes I did hope they'd win. Sorry to cross any lines that you made for everyone else..
I wasn't so much rooting for Kentucky, I was rooting against UConn. I have zero vested interest in UK success

Look, I hate Uconn like Marsh when we play them!! Make no doubt! But I've always rooted for the teams and styles I know before all else as long as we weren't playing them. Obviously I wouldn't be posting on this board or have SU blood since I was able to watch a tv, if that wasn't the case. Or spend what I consider a good amount of $ traveling all over the country to watch them play football and basketball. The ss in my avatar stands for south side by the way...But we all have different reasons on why we root for who and when...

And sorry, I just don't consider the boneyard or their board fans on my level. And whatever that sounds like I don't care really. I think there's some smart and decent fans albeit few, that would be more on my level...

I'll always root against schools that were in the Southern Conference - Kentucky, UNC, Duke, etc - the only exception I make is WVU since they joined the Big East.

I can't say I was rooting for UConn, but I was rooting against Kentucky. I can't stand Cal and I live in SEC country.

I never knew anything about the Southern Conference, so I just googled it. It's an interesting read on the predecessor of the SEC and ACC.

How the hell did we lose to Bc, Gtech and Dayton?

Because they have two uber-legit guards, a 4th option whom hit two 3s in a row, and 0 'hang-dog' players.

We had 1 legit guard. I can probably stop there b/c that is 70% of what matters.

But, I won't. Our stud forward was good for 2 unforced errors a game. And our equivalent to their foreign dude did not hit his 3s.

If you look at UConn, they looked a lot like us, but with 2 Ennis' not one. <keep it clean folks> Daniels = Grant; foreign dude = Trevor Baldwin; their 7'er = BMK; etc.

If we could have mustered up one more shot a game on a consistent basis, we probably cruise to the elite 8. It's the 2nd time in the last 4 years UConn claimed a title that was easily within our grasp. Kudos to them. They are probably one title away from being in the 'elite' category. A young, hip, was not was coach like Ollie, man, that is dangerous for us on the recruiting trail.

I want JB to amass victories as much as anyone, but I'm hoping for less stubborness next season. Aggressive play on O and D is the model.
