It all comes down to this...

Ebo, Gus, Laray, Zach, Austin, Devan, Malik Brown, Luke Arciniega...

per 247: Trevon Trejo & Tigi Hill
per scout Josh Kirkland & Darius Kelly.

That's five Jucos... Is anyone else really concerned about the high number of Juco prospects popping up on our visit list?

There's a bunch more JUCOs coming to visit in January...

I've got no problem with it, since we're moving up to a better league next season, and we need players who are game ready, and have already built up their bodies. We can't afford a class full of players who we want to redshirt. We need a handful of kids to step into the 2 deep, right out of the gate.

He is not there, but Chris Martin (for 5 star recruit, and one of top DE in country ) recently said SU has started recruiting him. I believe he is at the same CC as we got MPB from. This could be a monster grab, but also shows that DM is evolving as a college coach. He has come so far from his zero tolerance approach. Just in the few months you have the Augustus Edwards incident, Spruill incident, and now starting to talk to a guy who has been bounced out of 2 schools for some pretty serious stuff. Personally I love seeing his new found leniency. After all these are still young kids, who could have made mistakes, but ultimately he can still change their lives. Good for him...Now let's go get this kid!

Commits to Cal (never plays a down). Transfers to Florida (never plays a down). Gets kicked off team after being arrested for pot possession. Transfers to Navarre CC. Transfers to City College (Turner Baty!). Now has 2 years left.

I think you can make the case that he felt he had to develop the right culture. Maybe now he feels its the right environment to bring in guys with issues, selectively. Also, sometimes a kid learns something by going the JUCO route (partying less, more serious about future, etc.)

Im assuming the next 48 hours determines whether this class goes out with a bang, or with a whimper. Biggest recruiting weekend since I've been a poster on any site. Very exciting!

I said the same thing but got water boarded for it! LOL

I agree, if we are to land some marquee players it better start happening. I am curious about EO, but something he said last May told me right away he had no interest at all in coming here. I won't quote it here as I can't find the exact interview article I read it from, but it had to do with gettin away from NY. That is probably why I was never high on him when evreyone was making that mega thread on him. I would like him to prove me wrong, but not happening.

So far, a couple of JUCO's.

What new leniency? Edwards is in high school. When has Marrone disciplined a high school kid? Not to mention, just what did Edwards to wrong? We really have no idea what Spruill's discipline will be. I think you are trying to stir the pot.

His first season was spent sitting down all roster players and explaining what their role, if any, would be going forward. DM didn't purge the roster based on a player's behavior...he purged most because they couldn't play in his system.
