I doubt the Yankees are going to want to go to arbitration with this guy.Maybe offering him a qualifying offer which he probably rejects in hope for a dumb GM elsewhere to take a chance on him. The Yankees have plenty of arms in the farms to give up extra bass hits and home-runs for far less money.and far more potential as successful major league arms.

Those asking about trading Hughes before deadline, I would say it is highly unlikely. Hughes is more valuable to the Yanks for the rest of this year then he would likely be on trade market. All this said, I could see Hughes being an All-Star with an NL team in a big ballpark that has a good defensive outfield.
