Agreed. OSU is going to be much more to handle than Wiscy, and we only won that game by 1.

For me it just feels good to know that the rest of the tournament is going to be against teams that are not going to play stall ball or some other gimmick to change the game. They are pretty much going to play their game and say beat us.

OSU is not a better matchup as many have said. But, Wisconsin did beat them at their place. So...

Ohio State is better than Wiscy, but I think the Ohio State style of play is better for us than Wiscy stall ball. I also look at it like, though Ohio State is clearly better than Cincinnati, I didn't really want to play a team for the third time this year, a team that plays against our zone every year.

I'd go as far to say that Ohio State will be a tougher game for us than it would be to play Kentucky. Those who think that they are a better match up for us than Wisconsin are looking at things through Orange colored glasses at best or at worst are simply delusional.

Yeah, Ohio State is one of the only teams in the tournament that actually scares me. I definitely did not want to face them. They are custom built to exploit our biggest weakness, particularly without Melo.

tOSU can be forced into our running game, plus they don't shoot particularly well from 3. Zone won't extend as much, and we can trap Sully into frustration. He can be easily frustrated down low with pressure; he does his damage 1 on 1 and isn't known for his passing out of the block. He tends to be a black hole at times, and I think that can really work in SU'sfavor. That's what makes this a matchup I'd favor as opposed to Wisky.

For all you guys that are so worried about this matchup:

1. We are playing with house money after getting by the Sweet 16 given our situation (loss of Fab)
2. JB has a great track record specifically in this round and the next and more generally in the short turnaround games in the NCAA tourney.
3. They will likely play us man, which at a minimum should make it a refreshing game to watch after so many rock fights.
4. KJO is absolutely due, due, due for a big game.
5. OSU shoots the 3 at a slightly lower percentage than we do, would you like us against our zone?? Obviously we'll have problems with Sullinger and Thomas, but I'll take that challenge over a team that can really take advantage of us from 3.

Enjoy the next 30 hours....we won and we are in the Elite 8 with a great chance to get to the Final Four. My mood couldn't be any better, unless of course it was Saturday at 9:30 p.m. after having just knocked OSU out.

This team hasn't backed down from any challenge all year. What makes you think they will now? I bet this team is happy they're playing a team that they are underdogs against. More us vs the world type stuff. Dion is playing to prove hes a lottery pick and so far so good! This team can beat OSU, and methinks they will!

I respect OSU but not some of the reactions on this thread. Actually some of the overreactions.

We are VERY good in elite 8 games. Remember OSU has basically two practices to prepare instead of having all week of watching zone film and how to attack it.

Wiscy was much more prepared, and had to hit 14 threes to have a chance.

OSU game will be higher paced (benefits us), they don't have as many 3 point shooters to cover (so we can concentrate on their top 2). However, I think Sullinger can foul out both Keita and XMAS in which case we're in big trouble. If we're up only 1 with 20 seconds left again, they will 100% go to him, and he WILL score.
