I'll go ahead and say it. Dungey does not and will not recognize he isn't invincible. He will not alter his style of play regardless of opponent or score. Dino knows this. Last night was an attempt at two things. Protect Dungey from himself in an early game. Get Devito quality reps in a real game situation with a cushion to play with because he feels it's likely the kid will have to do it with the game on the line at some point this year.

My theory. Babers think we are going to get killed all year and wanted to get devito his time without getting him killed. The question is why do you want to get him time so bad

I think he knew he had three games to prepare TD. Starting Sept 15 TD will only be in If Dungy is hurt. I doubt Dino is planning on getting killed by Wake, Pitt, UNC and BC.

In Baber’s presser he talked about trying to restrain Dungey and compared him to the water behind a dam.

Given his history and the history of many running QB’s, he has to bring Devito along rapidly. He’s got to be ready when Dungey goes down. And based on what I read on here, Devito has a ways to go before he is ready. Every play he plays is like money in the bank.

It’s like Bill Hurley all over again.
