Clemson, Pitt and BC all have tough defenses and all are playing at home. Seriously, getting to a bowl will be a fantastic achievement. Duke may prove to be our best shot!

Pitt sucks a big fat one. BC will always play us tough because they year in and year out have good lineman. Plus their coach is a crafty sob who should've been our coach, think Doc Gross was scared of him.

the ACC is full of bad offenses it seems . nice to see us ahead of FSU in something though.

1 game at a time. We did what we had to do yesterday and won a must win game on the road, decisively. Let's focus on Clemson now...

Getting Broyld and Estime back will help us going forward.

If they both have, as I suspect, high ankle sprains, they may be out for a few more weeks. They also can re-injure them very easily. I don't think either will be back at 100% this season. Bad break.

Same was said about wakes defense. Bad acc offenses - good defense

We get the bye before, Pitt, and BC, they will play us banged up, hopefully we start to get players back. By Pitt John Raymon hopefully will be close to 100%, and he will make a big difference in both of the last 2 games. The sooner Thompson doesn't end up starting the game at DT the better for the defense. He belongs at end, and gets eaten up inside, especially on runs.

Louisville's D is just nasty - one of the most athletic I can remember against SU over the past few years.

There are basically first time QBs everywhere, including several true freshmen getting significant time (Miami, Clemson, us, Wake, Louisville).

Then lets hope the scheduling gods are listening. We've lost to FSU and ND who we were given no chance to beat by just about anyone in the country including most on this board; and Louisville and Maryland, both of whom were favored over us. Many of us figured we'd win one or the other of those two games. I'm an optimist and figured we'd win both and was obviously stupid and wrong. We are basically one game worse than most on here had guessed we'd be at this time. We can beat BC, NC State, Pitt, Duke and Clemson in that order of most likely to least likely IMHO. If we just beat the teams that are average at best, the first three, we'll make a bowl game. I think we'll get to a bowl still, but hey I'm an optimist and stupid and often wrong.

The problem with the chart is that it counts predominantly at this point non conference games.
OOC Strength of Schedule:
Louisville 111 *still has Notre Dame and Kentucky left
Pitt 86
Clemson 1 * still has South Carolina and Ga. State left
BC 47
Va Tech 23
Miami 32
Virginia 38
Wake 115
SU 44
FSU 8 *still has Florida left
NC State 103
Duke 125
Ga Tech 87 *still has Georgia left
UNC 27

For example -- Louisville has benefited from playing crappy Murray St. and FIU.
Pitt has benefited by playing crappy Delaware, FIU and Akron.
So lots of those great defenses as against half crappy OOC teams will be shooting way up in defensive yards allowed.

Let's look again at the end of the year. I'll bet SU goes for more yards than the current average against each of its remaining opponents.

Anyway you look at it these defenses are very good. I think you are kidding yourself if you think they aren't.

I hope you are correct.
We can certainly lose all of the remaining games or win most of them. I do not take BC likely. They seem to play everyone tough and they might need to beat us at home to be bowl eligible. AND they are probably still smarting from last year.

I think the most likely path is NC State, Pitt and Duke. I know Duke has a great D, but we are home and they might look past us. Pitt is always a rock fight.

We need to get healthy and play better on offense to get there.

Might have to rethink that. Duke upset UVA. No easy ones!
I know, I know - I keep trying to figure out a path and it gets harder and harder.

I know this won't go over well, here, but I love hunt. But it's going to be nice to see these 2 receivers running the bubbles , screens or whatever you want to call them.. With a QB who can throw it accurately
