I think he is a little overrated as well, but it's likely people here are judging him just off the game we had against him.
As a freshman he averaged 11 and 6 and shot 40% from 3 and 80% from the line... but also 3 blocks. In only 22 minutes! Pretty amazing production actually. He got in foul trouble often which is why his mpg was so low.
Good 3 point shooter, strong interior help defender and pedigree to be an excellent top of the key defender (on picks, screens, switches) which is really necessary to be an elite big man defender nowadays.
Those three skills are perhaps the most important in the current NBA for a big man... moreso than looking at the traditional two counting stats (Points/Rebs)
