In the past couple months ( here ) Dino has been charged with gas prices , war in the mid east, the melting glaciers, and New Coke being worse then Coke classic.

And with winning only 30% of conference games while cashing checks for 8 years.

Literally the worst college coach over that period of time.

Got fired , I am certain there were plenty of coaches that had worse records , many way worse , many never went 10-3 , and 7-5, so I believe there were alot of worse coaches , as I have stated before, I understand the dismissal, it was time.

It would behoove Fran Brown to watch his own behind and keep one of the brightest minds in college football at Syracuse. Fran should know talent when he sees what Jason has done this year with most of our O talent in the infirmary and especially the last two games of the season.

Fran may have someone better in mind. It would behoove Fran to have confidence in himself and trust his own judgement.

I have asked myself if Dino was meddling too much in the offense which made Beck look bad. Agree the last couple of games were impressive, constructing an offense out of pieces. Who knows? Maybe he stays on under Brown?

I kind of always wondered how much influence a HC has in things. For example, did Dino have to vet pregame intro, the hype videos put out each week, and other promotional (or lack there of) releases. Obviously he has his hands in all things coaching, but outside of that what else will we see change with a new HC.

Would love to know if this revelation developed like “Dan Mullen as our top coaching candidate” or this was genuinely true.

Not trying to impugn any insiders, just curious how accurate this is.

I still don’t understand the love affair with Beck. I wonder if his wife’s pic wasn’t in everyone’s spank bank if everyone would feel the same way about him. I don’t know if he’s going to be a good coach or not but there doesn’t seem like enough evidence of his time here for everyone to bemoan losing him. I’m pretty sure we can replace a guy that was just ok.

Exactly my point. The infatuation with losing him seems weird to me. It’s not like he lit it up and not saying he should have. But he didn’t do anything to show whether he will or won’t be a good coach. It’s still a, who knows.

Yeah I mean here, his one really solid HS QB recruit he lost, and the portal kids he brought in have been lacking. Not an ace recruiter, and a first year OC. We’ll live.

Pretty much word for word what I said yesterday, I feel like some just can’t move past the aura that came with him when he joined the staff even when we’ve seen he’s not that right now. I don’t think he’s awful but in no way am I pounding the table saying we have to keep Jason Beck on, Nunzio with his recruiting is the one guy on the staff I’m going all out to keep him on (As long as it’s not an upgrade to OC, which it surely won’t be)

He actually reminds a lot of the Bears OC Luke Getsy. Young guy, a lot of hope and belief he’d have a dynamic offense, “QB guru”, etc. Faced some similar issues too. Poor Oline play - especially on passing plays, QB injuries with no real backup, stagnant looking offense at times, and very few explosive or downfield plays.

I personally think he is a rising star but just an opinion .

This thread seems to have forgotten that we lost our two best O players this season - i think Beck is pretty good. Maybe Fran can get better but we will see.

It's a complete tear down now. Made 2 bowls in a row and would have won a lot more games this year with OG and GS healthy. People here think next years schedule is easy, I don't think so.

Nunzio, Brown and all things Jersey. In my day in the 50s Jersey football, way before the Catholic preps, was Phillipsburg, Camden and the Pine Barrens not metro NY. Hoping Nunzio stays.
