What's your gut feeling on the Bernie Fine situation?

That it is a far different situation than Sandusky and that we all need to withhold judgment on Bernie. So far I believe he is being treated unfairly.

I'm honestly shocked and disappointed Bob Ley participated in Mark Schwartz's rancid "story" on Bernie Fine. #totallyunfair #badjournalism

No one at ESPN can ever again criticize Deadspin. AJ Daulerio has more credibility than ESPN editors. A total embarrassment. #deadspinwon

Thank goodness we're not being blinded by our orange-colored glasses.
It seems we are not alone.

i was worried he was gonna rip cuse when i saw the thread title. but hes one of my favorite media sports personalities and glad he is taking the high road

Thank god, its about time another media outlet decides to hit ESPN. You would think they would have field day over this and the "worldwide leader"

ESPN is definitely spinning this way one sided.

Few more tweets in the last hour ...

Have I mentioned that Mark Schwartz is an assclown and should be fired for his irresponsible report on Bernie Fine?

Have I mentioned I'm shocked Bob Ley would toss his credibility away touching this irresponsible Bernie Fine story?

Whoa! See the more of this I see, Boeheim continuing his hardline stance etc...the more I believe ESPN doesnt have anything and this supposed video isnt a smoking gun. If we know about it, believe me, people more connected than us know about it.

I'm sorry but who is Jason Whitlock?

Jeez. I'm kinda surprised that Whitlock would be so blunt about his thoughts on Schwarz. Even if he's pretty certain there's nothing of substance, I'm not sure what he gains by informing the world that Schwarz is an assclown...

True that. Anyone who saw his "live shot" from Syracuse (with the non-existant snow on his lapel) could see plain as day that the guy is an assclown. Are we sure this is not an imposter twitter account for Whitlock?

Its a verified account

When your schtick is that you're the most controversial sportswriter in America, I'd expect your twitter posts to be, uh...controversial.

Schwarz, Bob Ley and OTL circling wagons, doubling-down on stupid. It's not "bizarre" that there's distrust/tension between police and DA.

WhitlockJason Jason Whitlock

Syracuse police and DA are both in CYA mode bcuz of ESPN spotlight. Nothing "bizarre" about it. It's called Standard Operating Procedure.

WhitlockJason Jason Whitlock

Ley and Schwarz want to push the police "coverup" narrative. There was no coverup. There was disinterest from police.

Reality: police don't vigorously investigate every accusation, especially ones coming from Utah to Syracuse with a shaky story.

He is following this story as close and most here it seems and he has been right on most of the time.

I look forward to the day he gets to "own" this story and blast OTL/Schwarz when all is said and done. (assuming nothing changes)

Whitlock had a pretty interesting article on foxsports on the subject--basically summarizing what we've all seen from him, and chastising the worldwide leader for sensationalist reporting.

I think we may be witnessing the beginning of "Sports Wars".

I thought this once Whitlock made his first use of #MarkSchwarzIsAnAssclown. I would actually be incredibly interested to see what would happen if the major sports outlets (ESPN, Yahoo Sports, CBS Sports, SI, whoever) erupted into a World War of sports news. I think it could be fun to watch as a fan...

Except that the ammunition in this "war" will be exactly what you see here; flimsy allegations against notable programs.

It wouldn't be fun because there would be no objectivity and really ruin any bit of integrity that the networks have left. When your motivation is confrontation, you give the nation truth deviation.

It's clear that he's getting ready to let Schwarz, Ley, ESPN & Co. have it.

That will only work, of course, if the DA chooses not to file charges against KSBF (King of Syracuse, Bernie Fine) because SPD could not find evidence of the alleged (or other) incidents.
