It wouldn't be fun because there would be no objectivity and really ruin any bit of integrity that the networks have left. When your motivation is confrontation, you give the nation truth deviation.

I look at it this way: you'd have guys like Schwarz ruining their credibility and being called out for it. Whitlock would gain followers and Schwarz would lose them. In the end, it could be the demise of the WWL, and the beginning of merit based following. At least, ideally.
 
He clearly thinks that this is Duke Lacrosse pt. 2 and he wants to be known as the first sports reporter to go after ESPN for it.
 
He used to be on ESPN's The Sports Reporters but was fired for saying something that the network didn't like. If I remember correctly it was race related. Maybe the Imus story...can't really remember
