You have long-time posters in other threads saying they hope something can be done to salvage the university's reputation, and my statements are the problem? Well, I was always a bigger fan of the football program anyway. I'll just go back there and enjoy the old fashion, garden variety discussion about whether the head coach sucks or not. I'm with them completely and 100% if and until I found out that they knew up there about the contents and existence of the tape. If yes on that then I bail. There's a reason the DA and the SPD are at each others throats as Bees postulated the other day...they came to realize that's is all legit and many screwed up back in the day. If Duvall was a part of that (nothing to date suggests so as far as I know) and the did in fact know up the the tapes details then it's going to be embarassing being anything Syracuse related for a long, long time.

The thing is Davis said he went to the SPD without specifics on who was abusing him during a 5 minute phone call. He never said he tried to contact the police after that. He then said he made the tape after the SPD didn't take action the first time. He never said he went to the SPD with the tape. So based on this 2011 was the first the SPD knew about the tape. At least that is how ESPN is reporting this. So Duvall couldn't cover it up if he didn't know about it.

I would like to know if SU knew about the tape in 2005. If so then why didn't they fire Bernie then? Unless he told SU that he never molested Davis and that he was gay and interacted with Davis as an adult. Otherwise SU has some explaining to do.

Hate to say it, but SU needs to pimp slap Boeheim a bit in passive aggressive ways...PUBLICLY.

And Boeheim deserves it for saying things the way he did a week ago. His eventual contrition needs to mimic that, and yet, it won't be easy as a man who clearly thinks he is larger than life in the 315 area code was blindsided by his sidekick. And heaven help us if he knew something, though I really don't think he did.

They almost need to treat him like the crazy stubborn old man who clearly didn't know about all of this so that's just how they defend their long time friends. But then Cantor makes a Chancellor level statement that shows who is in charge at SU.

JB defended a long time friend but not without a ton of backup so many are quick to forget. How about Davis drawing him into it with accusations that JB saw him in Bernie's room only to later say JB knew nothing. How about 3 investigations showing nothing could be verified. That doesn't fit into shooting from the hip by any standards.

If you flip with the wind on every new allegation before verification don't ever make friends with anyone. No one needs a friend like that. How many investigations would you need before defending a friend. As Dash said, the tape wasn't released years ago and we should wait to find out why. Is it in fact an un-doctored and factual piece of evidence?

Nothing JB did makes me believe he needs a knee jerk apology to those that are self admitted liars. That part of this whole ugly scene they brought upon themselves and they have recanted some of it and contradicted some of it. They should have stuck to the "facts". We are still waiting to see what is fact or fabrication.

I agree. I don't exect boeheim to issue any apologies, nor do I want him to. He did what any of us would have done. Period
