JB on Orange Nation at 1PM

Agreed. He must have been picked on as a kid or its a parental issue. Hes always been unbelievably insecure even with all of his successes.
Did you ever read JB’s book written with Jack McCallum? JB was careful not to disparage his father in print, but you could read between the lines with some of it. The dude sounded like one tough old SOB. He was an undertaker after all.

He basically said I'm Jim Boeheim and I dont care. He thinks he is the Teflon Don, I can do anything I want, what are they going to do
Sadly, a lot fans agree with him and support this attitude.

Yes. I actually posted on this years ago. Im sure his Dad was tough.

He’s not tired of it, he’s just not changing for your benefit or anyone else’s. You know, like most 78-year-olds.

The only people complaining about this are journalists and disgruntled fans. Nobody else cares. I didn’t even comment until today…because I can’t believe we’re still whining about this on Thursday.
Aye, If we were 20-3 , this thread wouldn’t exist, JB has always a been short with local media. We’re not winning now , so it’s not all right!

Reporter” Hey coach can I ask about one of your players?”
Coach JB” Depends how tall you are….stand up”
Reporter” Well I am almost 5’2….now about my question?”
Coach JB” One sec, left something in my car, meet me outside”

We've officially reached the stage where folks are bouncing off the rubber walls with glee.

Those words are a case of "I'm not wrong, everyone else interpreted it wrong." JB just can't help himself.
It’s like when Bobby the Brain Heenan called Marty Jannetty a coward for trying to run away and dive through the window to escape….after Shawn Michaels turned on him and threw him through the window.

We all know it’s not true, but the obvious lie is either absurdly frustrating and rage inducing if you’re nine years old, or all out hilarious if you’re not.

So lying is ok because he doesn’t like JB?
I said it doesn’t make it right. I’m explaining why it’s happening and going to get worse. Lots of non SU sports writing alums are friends with who ones went to Newhouse and dealt with JB. It’s a small circle. He’s not going to have any friends out there as things go south.

I told you. Its happened just like your Day 2. Its a nickname. Pick another one for him or call him whatever you like. My nickname is based on one of my all time favorite theater characters. Its like Swag Daddy or shorter. Gus.
its dumb

JB engineered Coyle to Minnesota? Yeesh.

If he’s capable of that, you’d think he’d be bringing in better rosters the last 8 years.

Plenty to complain about, but cmon.

I think the opposite might be kind of true. I wouldn't be shocked if Coyle left at least in part because he didn't like the idea of being powerless over someone underneath him on the org chart.

Couple things. First- Asana is meh. Much better options out there.

Second - yes it is task rotation, that said doing so while keeping track of the progress of each parallel task works just fine unless your attention span is erratic. Also when moving forward on a rotating task, especially one that is more enjoyable, you are helping yourself with problem solving and creativity. Just as the mind works better when exercising or completing a physically productive task.

All of the above is dependent on personal preference as well. Here is a good read on it. Some of us prefer task cycling and are better for it.

Seriously, who the hell cares? Some of you will latch onto anything that involves bashing JB.

If that’s the toughest interview that kid ever has, he’ll live a charmed life.
That's right.
It's a good excercise to deal with unpleasant interview subjects.

BUT...Boeheim went beyond being grouchy.
He basically attacked the reporter for asking the question EVERYONE wanted to know.
Why was a starter not at the game?

Asking THE question is part of good reporting.

The bigger problem for Boeheim is that this incident happened to get national attention.
He's likely going to be more under that national microscope.
And depending on the way the rest of the season goes the narrative could well become that a Hall of Fame coach is destroying is own legacy.
Not by being nasty to reporters but by committing the worst coaching offense: losing.

I actually think that at this point Syracuse basketball has become a page 2 or 3 story.

He’s too insecure. Even after 1,000+ wins. You’d think he’d be secure in his knowledge, ability, and accomplishments and not care what anyone says. But it’s clearly the opposite.
Maybe his insecurity is he knows he can’t teach m2m and he forged that part of his resume like George O’Leary did.

One thing being batted around today is whether jb was being a bully. JB says he wasn't. But is he the person to ask? If someone makes what might be a racist statement, do we ask them? Or the group that might be the party that was the victim? Or if someone makes a offensive sexist statement, who do we ask?

We're not going to make it as a society unless we can look 78 year old men in the eye and say I'm not going to let you bully me!

(that's sort of a joke...I think).

I think we have just lived through a rather famous 78 or older bully. He was in the news bullying someone every day. The good news is that every bully I have ever known was a coward at their core. And that isn't a joke.

Geez, JB is really doing a number on you. Don’t take this stuff so seriously.

The only thing jb is doing a number on me is the terrible way he has run the program over the last number of years. He acted like a bully to a kid. I will always stand up against bullying.
