jb riding the girard train

for 3 years and counting. brutal. and im sure the 4th year will be no different.
What would you have done for PG tonight? Play more of the Cornell transfer at the one? Not sure that’s possible.

this is troy nunes esque.
Amazing comp and really spot on.

Marginal talents at key positions who stayed in their prominent roles for way too long. And ultimately lead to the demise of really good tenures in poor fashion.

Granted JB’s career is light years better than Coach P’s, but the comparison is there.

Eh I think Joe would be quite good if we moved him off the ball (next year). Troy was never good

Troy would have been good if they moved him to safety.

He was recruited by Penn State at that position.

We literally had Jimmy brining up the ball because our PG cannot handle any type of pressure

Primarily because is is NOT a PG.

Never was.
Never will be.

Joe is a perfectly cromulent combo guard, who should be playing ~25 mins off the bench on a typical decent Cuse team.

The other 2 guards recruited ‘ahead’ of him both washed out, as did the one recruited behind him.

And once Symir got hurt, we’re left with All Joe, All The Time, and with zero other viable options.

It really is amazing that we almost won that game - should have won that game - in spite of everything.

Joe may be one of the more infuriating players of recent memory. When good he brings a smile to my face - he has one or two very nice passes a game which on this particular team stand out even more. However, he also has 5 or more trips a game where you wonder if he is on the take. He is a willing rebounder and isn't afraid to mix it up, yet in terms of guarding people he has absolutely no interest in playing D at any level.
He has a horrible handle and can't finish, but in my opinion is the best shooter on the team. He - and everyone else on the team - definitely counts points. He also seems to be the least scared guy on the team in tough environments. When good I live with the brain freezing bad, when he's bad he is off the charts "why did we recruit him" bad. Fascinating watch.

Playing the two next year isn’t going to improve his defense. Play man and make him accountable. It will allow our young guards to play more minutes. Joe is who he is. His defense in HS was flat out embarrassing. I’ve never seen anything like it. His HS coach was a joke with what he allowed Joe to do on defense. I don’t care how many points you score, how do you look his teammates in the face and ask them to guard people? I understand why JB is constantly on him. The most powerful tool a coach has his the seat next to him. JB needs to hold Joe accountable, but I’m not holding my breath.
