Why would any coach (or player for that matter) say "I'm not coming back next year" minutes after a hard fought game? JB has already said he's coaching next year. Mel said "don't worry about next year" with a big smile on his face right after the NC game and everybody took it to mean he was returning. I think Flynn said something similar and people got all excited. A 67 year old man could say he was positively coaching next year and in a week change his mind.

If Hopkins goes to Southern Cal, we definitely get at least two more years while JB hand picks and hires his replacement. Two years of Head Coach In Waiting while JB teaches him what he needs to know. If that HCIW is a former player who spent four years in the 2-3, so much the better.

No he didn't. Anyone is going to get annoyed, and then pissed if asked the same question over and over again. There are only so many ways to answer the same question.

He always has the right to change his mind later if he wants. I don't get why he gives answers that always leave the door open which just invites more questions. Exactly. JB brings this on himself! When asked the question he gives a poor answer every time. All he has to say is I will be at Syracuse next season and beyond. THEN STOP TALKING!! It's a clear cut answer and ends all speculation. JB doesn't give that answer though, he talks for 5 min, gets upset and when he is done talking you are more confused than before the question was asked.

Could easily answer these questions in a straight forward manner/professional manner and move on, and he doesn't. The ACC press is going to have fun next year.

I Iw as coaching in the final 4 and had just lost a tough game and some one asked me that quoestion before all esles I think I might respond the same. In the end who cares how he responds, classsic JB.

And then last night he put a bunch of qualifiers on his coming back. Ask him the same question an hour apart and you get 2 different answers.
