feature back capable of giving the offense a big play. I'd like to see DMF out there and given a chance, Barring that more opportinities for the Prince of Gulley.Smith is an excellent short yardage player unless its close to the goal when he suddenly gets stopped for little or no gain.Any plays designed foe Jerome on the outside should be tossed into the shredder as a waste and recycled for someone who has the ability to crack a big play. Doug wants "big plays" and fields players incapable of giving those kind of moments.:bang:

rt don't you understan?The fact that Smith is not an every snap kind of RB? Too slow with no ability to make a big play. The part that Gulley would have more potential to give us that or perhaps Devante Macfarlane as in DMF?I know that George Morris is on the red-shirt express so he is out and apparently AAM is so bad as to question ever giving him a scholarship.

We don't have right now an every down complete back. We are using 3 pieces of a puzzle to try and make a complete puzzle. I think we are doing a good job with it.

IMO ... Marrone isn't exactly looking for the big play when he hands the ball off. He's looking for the guy who has the best chance of getting him 4-10 yards (give or take 2 yards). Right now that is Gulley and Smith who he trusts the most.

That said ... if we can control the game next week, I think we'll see what the other backs in the bullpen can do.
