Jerome's had a solid season and is probably going to top 1000 yards. Nice achievement.
I don't meant this to be a knock on Smith, but as well as he's done as a starter, I think our most talented backs are behind him.
Jerome Smith is thee best RB in this program and it aint close.
He may be the best we have right now, but I won't be surprised if Morris or Macfarlane turn out to be even better.Jerome Smith is thee best RB in this program and it aint close.
I think if there was/is a player that deserves 44, its Smith. I for one would be enormously pleased to see him wear it.

There's a freshman that is red shirting that is even better.
To me the most deserving is Shmarko. I rescind that vote if you want to be purists and argue that it should only go to the best running back and not the best player/person/embodiment of a SU football player.felt the same thing

And again, I don't want it to be viewed as a slam on Jerome. He's clearly worked hard and is making the most of his opportunity. It's been a good story already and the season and his career isn't over.I think you are going to end up being very sage like. Agree completely. Jerome has done a nice job, but its certainly no coincidence that his numbers have improved so drastically since the return of Pugh. I could run behind this offensive line right now.

I suspect that he'll continue to improve but I don't know that he has that dynamic quality the greats have. I think Morris and Macfarlane both do.

Continues to improve. I always go back to Marrone's quote about his ability to learn. He's seeing the hole and hitting it with great north-south discipline, and in the second level he makes quick reads and quick decisive cuts.
Love to see him rumbling down the field, or sprinting for the corner. Big guy who runs hard and looks like a freaking tank.Everyone always loves the next guy and is convinced they will be better. Maybe they will, maybe they won't, but as of now, they haven't shown me squat and Jerome has.
dude gallops down the field in such a deceptive way, almost lumbering like but oh so effective. Blue collar runner for lack of a better phrase, real fun to watch.Love to see him rumbling down the field, or sprinting for the corner. Big guy who runs hard and looks like a freaking tank.
