There's a good reason for the troughs in the men's rooms at the Dome: makes for an express wee-wee. Get back to the game quicker.

How do you guys compare Jerome to Delone Carter? Similar style backs. IMO, I dont Jerome think he is there yet I need to see another year of production, but if he put up similar rushing yds and more TD's this year. I will then say he is better.

I don't think they're that similar. Jerome has more raw athleticism from a numbers standpoint. Delone was a stronger runner with better vision and lateral movement. He is a more pure running back. If Delone had better speed he'd be an NFL starter. Jerome won't be better just because he has more yards. Delone carried the offense with almost no passing game to keep defenses honest and a horrible offensive line. Jerome didn't start putting up decent numbers until the o-line started playing better.

Rome 45 yeah baaabbbbbyyy I just got really psyched for the season reading that quote! Is it 8/31/13 yet damnit

I think Carter pre-hip-injury was demonstrably better. Had good wheels, and was a natural at RB. The thing about him was unbelievable balance. He was still making athletic moves while being hit, and he rarely went down with the first contact. His athleticism allowed him to shrug off hits and then keep the run going. More explosive than Smith, who also rarely goes down with first contact, but (IMO) seems to go into "bull" mode and eke out what he can. Carter was always trying to break one.

Yeah. Even his senior year he was doing all of that. I don't remember how fast he looked as a freshman so I can't say what he may have lost from the hip. Most of his yards his senior year he got by himself. He was a beast. I would've loved to see him on a team like the one in '98 with balance.

Jeeze...I forgot about healthy Carter. Tough kid and coming back from that hip injury, that was a heck of a hardship to overcome.

Keep in mind, He has only been the starter for one year. He has this year and possibly another. Thats all Im saying. I think they both have the same physique, one cut runners who are not known for their break away speed. Jerome does have the better line though. We will see if he can do better this season. I hear he is a hard working young fella. that 4.48 40 tells me he is working harder than ever and primed to take his game to the next level.

Jerome seems faster and more athletic.

Absolutely not faster or more athletic. Jerome seems that way becuse he got gets in to the open field more. DC ran behind veery poor O-lines.

I admire both. What's not to like? But it is Rome's time to shine... as well as PTG ...Mc Farlane.. Morris... AAM.. Broyld ..etc. Make it happen, O-line!!!!

Morris is the best RB on the team right now.

If ultimately true, what a great problem to have. Because the two returning, with all of that 2012 production, are very good.

Jerome Smith
1. Gets a hard-on and runs through brick walls
you guys add the rest, just for a fun post!!!!

Ironically, "Express wee-wee" has been my nickname by most women I've ever dated.

Interesting, my biggest pet peeve with Smith was how often he went down on first contact, especially for his size. I always thought it was a combo of pad level/footwork. But he's improved his weaknesses every season, so I'll expect he improves in that area.

Carter had better balance, vision, and footwork as a senior but we haven't seen the best or Rome yet so its tough to compare. If he starts shedding tacklers instead trying to run through them he'll be much more productive.

While lacking elite breakaway speed Carter did possess a great 2nd gear as soon as he'd break through the line. I think some forget he peeled off a 4.54 at the combine and was only .09 behind Shamarko's 20 yard split. I think that's where Rome can really improve and it sounds like he might.

Seems like you, me, and Ottointhegrotto are the only 3 with this stance at the moment. Morris is going to be special.
Uh-hmm... I remember somebody else mentioning this a few times during the past year.
I know FHCDM struggled a bit with the decision of whether or not to red-shirt him last year.
Fortunately, the other two backs played at a level that did not require that decision to be re-examined.

I was the first one on his bandwagon after seeing him at Fort Drum last summer. He will see the field this year, but this is the deepest group of RB's Syracuse has ever had. It is badass.
