Jerome.

Keep in mind, He has only been the starter for one year. He has this year and possibly another. Thats all Im saying. I think they both have the same physique, one cut runners who are not known for their break away speed. Jerome does have the better line though. We will see if he can do better this season. I hear he is a hard working young fella. that 4.48 40 tells me he is working harder than ever and primed to take his game to the next level.
The things that Delone had aren't taught. He was also more than a one cut runner. There were multiple times he would make guys miss with more than one cut. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I don't like JS. He seems like a very hard worker, but he lacks the pure running instincts that Delone Carter had, and despite the measurables being similar, DC was a stronger runner. Go back and watch anything from his senior year (only his second healthy one) and you'll see how many yards he got after initial contact. He never had one hole to run through that was as good as many of the holes JS had last year. Honestly, I don't know why people so badly want JS to be better than DC. It wouldn't be an insult for a guy to be considered worse than DC.

All great points. All I am saying is that we should wait and see. This will only be JS' s second year as a starter. Lets wait and see what he added to his repertoire. I agree with you though, Delone had better instincts, line was not as good. I particularly liked his jump cuts. But these are things that can develop as JS gains more experience.

Carter had an incredible gift to get an extra yard or two on third downs. He knew where he had to get to and he got there.

Seems like you, me, and Ottointhegrotto are the only 3 with this stance at the moment. Morris is going to be special.
Count me in that group.. Hopefully they can get him some game experience this year... As long as he avoids serious injury... he's going to be on the end of season All-ACC teams for at least 2 years.

Had Carter not suffered the hip injury, he would have been an NFL pick after his Jr year..

Watch the tape from his freshman year and that of his senior year. Although as a freshman, he had limited PT, he was unstoppable. He made an amazing recovery and still made the pros, but I always will wonder what could have been had that hip injury never happened.

If Lemon is still open amidst the Missouri secondary, Carter is still running through the entire Wyoming D.

And West Virginia still doesn't know tight ends are allowed to catch the ball.

Wait, wait, don't they have to report eligible???

Another great spectacle.

Ah, Missouri. The only message board I've ever been banned from for trolling, primarily for posts such as "Hey guys, it's (insert two days after the game)..." (body of the post): "...and Alec Lemon is still open."

Though I think they banned me mainly because I went back and started a thread saying "I really have to hand it to this Missouri team..." (body of post, something along these lines): "I've never seen so many dudes simultaneously eat at once. That's really impressive teamwork."

I'm not proud. Well, maybe a little.

I don't think that anyone doubts that Morris has the potential to be special, I think the counterpoint was brought up because he has zero carries so far in college and it's all speculation at this point.

I was the first one on his bandwagon after seeing him at Fort Drum last summer. He will see the field this year, but this is the deepest group of RB's Syracuse has ever had. It is badass.
I jumped on right after spring game. Was gushing about him on another forum.

Ha yea. Douchnozzles deserved it. They were SO pompous before that game. I remember your prodding on that circa 1995 AOL board...their tears tasted so good.

Seriously, though, how many times have you see the AD in the endzone being the first to congratulate the TD scoring player from his school. That was so surreal. AND he was collecting a check $$$$

Sorry, I know we are getting way off-topic for this thread. So...

#45 will have a harder time but I think he will do just fine. 1000+ yards again.

Hell Syracuse might just have two 1000 yard rushers.

What are the sizes of the dlines and lb's SU are facing this year? If this Oline can open holes Smith is going to be one tough player to tackle for anyone that tries to hit high or uses their arms.

He has weird 2nd-level speed not seen out of a Syracuse RB in a long time.

Yep, and it was on full display. My jaw dropped when I saw him separate from the defense.

I said it the day he committed that he would be a good one ... and honestly he is only scratching the surface.
