Jim Boeheim has a best-seller ...

I have only read the first 2 chapters. My book club and then Christmas has gotten in the way, but I must tell you the reading is COMPELLING. I know this is going to be a great book! I want to dig IN if I can ever dig OUT.

I bought the book for my dad - so I dug in for a few pages. Its good and compelling - but mainly for a cuse fan.

The few different parts I read sounded like a JB press conference to me.

'edelin could have been a great player but his problems were on no one but billy'
'john (wallace) and i talked after the final 4, we think that was the only bad pass of Laz's entire season and it cost us a chance at the championship'

not exact quotes - but similar enough. There were a few of those. Nothing wrong with them - but very Jim Boeheimesque quotes. I think they could be said in softer tones.

but who the hell am i to talk. I am a hyperbole specialist.

I saw the Boeheim bio front and center in a bookstore in O'Hare on Sunday. Looks like the publisher is doing a good job pushing this.

Looking forward to reading my copy soon, right after I knock out this (very long) Bully Pulpit book.

Got it as a birthday present in the fall. It is a great read with many very interesting anecdotes and insights into SU basketball, recruiting, and the various personalities in the Big East. Don't think of Boeheim as a literary type of guy so was surprised at how well written it was. Am passing it around to my buddies who are SU fans. And yes, it would make a great gift to your SU fans and relatives.

Watched "Bleeding Orange" on Time-Warner Cable Sports. Matt Park, Jack McCallum and JB sitting on stools on the court in the Melo center. The thought occurred: if they are naming building s after your players and writing books about your coach, you are doing pretty good.

There are enough us crazy SU bball fans to make it a best-seller even if it had only one chapter. I ordered my copy long before it was available in print.
