Jim Irsay cleans house in Indianapolis

Wow. Figured the coach was gone but who is he going to find better than Polian?

How do you fire everyone after this season? If peyton plays they are in the playoffs yet again. Sure, maybe they shouldn't be hedging all bets on one player for all these years and had a competent backup in place besides signing Collins, but wow Polian is too good to let go after one terrible year.

Too think that if the lockout never happened and he had access to team docs after his surgery this season would have been much different for the colts and texans

I can't believe that story hasn't gotten more run to tell you the truth.

One man's opinion (from a writer at Rotoworld):

"The Polians had lived off Peyton Manning for several years in Indianapolis, failing to upgrade a collapsing, aging offensive line and providing Manning with zero running game threat. The wheels fell off quickly when Manning got injured because the Colts had no way to generate ball movement on offense and their defense has always stunk. The Polians also completely whiffed on at least two of their last three first-round picks (Anthony Gonzalez, Jerry Hughes) entering 2011, and the other (Donald Brown) is a backup-caliber running back. It's time to start over. "

Didnt see this coming but makes a some sense depending how i look at it

I do think this season was much more than just about losing Peyton. I don't feel like reviewing every draft the Colts have had the past few years, so I don't want to say they have been drafting poorly, but there are certainly some odd decisions that were made recently.

If I were them, I would take Andrew Luck with the first pick. Then I would wait and see what happens thereafter. If St. Louis and Minnesota hold their ground, you know they aren't going after QBs. So as long as they don't trade down, I dangle Luck in front of Cleveland for a king's ransom and take RG3 with their pick. If they get Luck and keep Manning, one plays. But RG3 is such a contrasting player to those two, that he can learn behind Peyton and still bring dynamic playmaking ability to the field in certain packages. So you get better immediately, but also build for the future behind Griffin's immense ceiling and the added picks you receive in the trade with Cleveland.
