He said he likes Mike Trangeese, but Mike Trangesse isn't going to tell him when he will stop coaching and he can stop predicting it too because it won't be soon. And moving to the ACC has no effect on when he retires. Jimmy B was very positive about the ACC move. Said the Big East hasn't been the Big East in a long time playing teams like South Florida, Depaul, Marquette...etc. Said the travel is better in the ACC.

Said this has no effect on his decision to retire and this move is only a good thing.

The common theme in all of JB's interviews is that the 17 team BE that exists today isn't the same BE that SU founded over 30 years ago.

JB has made some serious rounds after the merger. Shows the respect the media has for him.

On Axeman this afternoon. Not verbatim like I said. But he said it. Go listen to podcast on thescore1260.com

I like how he mentions this all as a BCS money grab.

He said Notre Dame could have saved the Big East by joining the football conference, but elected not too and contributed significantly to the instability.

He alludes to Axe claiming SU lost a recruit three weeks ago as well as an untruth - Andre Drummond?

orangextreme's link quote:

By: Mike Waters - syracuse.com

On Tuesday, the Hall of Fame coach talked about Syracuse’s impending departure from the Big East. He pointed a finger at Notre Dame’s president, who despite the fact that Notre Dame has its own television contract and isn’t a member of the Big East’s football conference, advocated walking away from a $1 billion deal with ESPN earlier this week.

And also by the same token, the ACC we're joining isn't the 8 team, all North Carolina all the time league from 30 years ago.

Said pretty much the same thing in all his interviews today.

Nice to see him towing the university line. ;)

Anyone know where JB (or maybe it was someone else) said that the bball schools had a vote in the fball tv deal (as well as ND)? And ND turned it down.

Thx.

Or maybe he finally sees the future and how it is going to benefit the university.

Su and Pitt to the ACC -- totally driven by football.
Who is the face of the two schools in the media frenzy?
Yes that’s right -- the Hall of Fame coach.
Thank you for that Igor!
