Jimmy Boeheim signs Summer League deal with Pistons

Hard working high IQ guy with significant skills, his offensive game grew by leaps and bounds last season.
 
Summer League teams need 12 man rosters.

Fair enough but I would be surprised if he is top 9 in minutes on the Pistons SL team. Expect him to be on the last line of players that tends to come in late. But I could be wrong and would be happy to be so.

Somewhat unrelated, but related, I am looking for the post I made earlier this year (January maybe) where I said 100% that Buddy gets a summer league invite at minimum and some guy called me stupid for suggesting it and that he would never sniff anything NBA related.

50 years of continuity is why SU guys get shots that others might not. Its why Sweet D and Marty and Devo and......get opportunities. Its also why you dont replace JB with anyone from outside the family unless they are of a Mark Few level.

My point is that coaches and programs like SU and JB have better connections and pull. That only comes with sustained success and JB has used his purchase and connections to help lots of people inside and outside of the program. Not just his kids. Its another reason that most programs stay in house when replacing a legend.

I wouldn't worry at all about that guy who laughed at your prediction. He spent the past 4 years going totally over the top about Buddy, including saying he should be embarrassed to walk across campus after one game.
