Jimmy Burr tonight

Thank God we have the talent to play thru the calls this year. This has to be the worst year for calling games I've seen yet. It wasn't even Burr blowing it this game , its Karl Hess. Burr actually got the Fab-elbow play right. Year after year the fans complain and year after year nothing is done which is sign language for "We don't care, We Like it like it is!"

Three awful refs all together in one crew. I don't know who's worse Burr or (Von) Hess. The last foul on Fab is a total joke.

My favorite part was whoever is running color commentary saying "this is a final four caliber crew"

no, they arent.

Maybe Burr had alittle to much heat on him from our last two games. Needed to pass the torch on. His out of bounce call in the second half where one of the nova guards dribbled the ball out of bounce where he turned his head and looked the other way was priceless.

lol That sounds about right to me. I don't understand how the announcers see them so differently than us
I think it is because one of two reasons. One, they are buddy buddy with them. Somebody like Fraschella has probably crossed paths, and dealt with Burr multiple occasions over 25 years. Two, you don't know what is in the league contract with the network. This is nothing new in sports. I grew up watching Joe Garagiola defend totally incompetent umpires and you know damn well friendship came in to play.

Burr is just an arrogant out of shape bad official. His arrogance far outdistances his ineptness if you can believe that. I have seen it off the court and up close and personal. I detest the man for obvious reasons.

I certainly for the life of me cannot understand why Higgins and Burr are still employed. They should be relegated to the Wednesday nite Over-40s league at the Y.
Walking off the court last year should have been the final straw capping off a career full of blunders. The proof in the pudding is I challenge any SU watcher to find 10 ppl who were even one bit surprised to see both their names involved in the "Walk Off the Court Incident". Besides that they are both old (for a physical activity standpoint) out of shape men who seriously, I would think be a health risk to themselves doing that work.

I'm still not completely over what he did in that SJU/RU game in the BET last year.

The fact that he's still reffing is a pretty sad indictment on the sport.
