JJ is the least competitive Syracuse player I have ever seen suit up.

Or one of his assistants could show him the metrics. And make him realize this is who JJ actually is. He’s not taking the next step up anytime soon.
I really miss the Steve from North Syracuse recaps of the radio show. Someone can call in if the subject if it hasn't been brought up, but I can't believe it hasn't been. Plus, I think Griff has a radio show.

The one good thing about the ending is at least Nait George is a real good FT shooter.

Said the exact same thing in the post game. It's really getting crazy, but the metrics tell a story.
I assume JJ kills it in practice, is the best player on the court and Red thinks it will carry over to the games. The pressure of the games just seems to eat at him and causes him to play timid and not exude confidence.
That's what I was getting at with my infamously titled thread - not competitive meaning he doesn't have the basketball "dog" in him...too nice of a kid / sensitive / thin skinned.

Something goes wrong or he misses a shot and he starts to panic. It's why he can't shoot free throws. He has a better stroke from 3 when it's in the flow. Put him at the line and he gets in his own head and the herky jerky motion appears.

At the very least, take him out of the game in the last few minutes when the other team needs to foul. JJ just went and stood in the corner on a bunch of possessions.

Then of course he ends up with the ball and starts flying down the right side of the court and everyone is wondering what the heck is he doing. I’m convinced he blanked out in panic because he didn’t want to get fouled instead of calmly slowing down and pulling it back to run clock. Instead he sprinted to the GT defender for an easy foul.
