Joe’s sloppy handle this season

So, I do kind of think there's a path to competitiveness next season.

IF...

Torrence can pace on assists the way he is now with more minutes...

Mintz/Copeland/some other guard can present some kind of driving threat...

Jesse comes back fully healthy and we prioritize working the ball into him...

Benny's game against Duke becomes his average game...

Frankie takes steps forward backing up the 5...

2 out of Bunch, Taylor and Brown come ready to ball and give some combo of defense, shooting and rebounding...

The 2-3 zone gets stronger with new blood at guard and forward...

Maybe, just maybe, IF all of that happens, we might be decent next season.
Decent is not good enough.

i'll echo what i said above. tar heels could harass joe full court and wear him out.

I don’t want to like this but I think you are right. There has to be enough film by now on Joe and the team to know the weak spots.

Joe’s percentage goes down, buddys goes up.

They’d also probably draw different defenders.
It’s amazing how many people don’t understand that stats are the product of ability AND strategy. The second part is lost on too many stat geeks.

I'm curious if the coaches try to change Joe's posture at all. He's so stiff. I see no bend in the hips on either end of the court. That's not good whether you trying to stay in front of your guy on D or keep your handle low and drive by guys on O.

He's such a good shooter. If only we had a MCW type that could handle the ball and just let him spot up outside. Even if someone closes out, he's good with the shot off of a pump fake and one dribble to avoid the defender.
