Very well deserved honor for Coach Desko. One of the rare scenarios when the long time assistant takes over for the legendary head coach and arguably exceeds his mentor. He has an amazing run on the hill, all-american player, six titles as head assistant coach and five titles as the head coach. He doesn't get the recent credit he deserves because of the way the tail end of his coaching career closed, but he is realistically and statistically one fo the best college coaches in the history of the game. You can put his accomplishments up against all and very few come close.

He sealed his legacy with the back-to-back titles in 2008-09. He won without a Powell, and those two teams had different styles. Each had to win an OT games in the Final Four. SU was the team of that decade.
