I may have missed it...were there any reports regarding JR's injury?

what kind of report? i dont know if he has had the surgery yet?

Sometimes details leak out giving a better understanding than the basic "lower body" injury.

I think the medical team put an air cast on JR's leg before they wheeled him off. Was it a knee injury...did he break his leg...maybe both? Very scary and I hope it's not a career ending type injury. The poor kid has been through enough.

I believe it was a bad break

torn ACL, MCL, PCL, meniscus. Not pretty

Cut blocks are great aren't they? NCAA needs to stop this stuff that GT and a few others are doing.

It's funny you mentioned cut blocks. I was watching Navy -vs- ND yesterday and watched to see if Navy used this technique. Granted I only caught the 4th quarter but I didn't see any cut blocks employed.

I have zero respect for Paul Johnson.

Thanks...prognosis?

have to wait for surgery when the swelling goes down, and see how that goes. i'd assume they will have a better time table once they are actually able to do the surgery.

Reading up on GT before the game I was actually expecting to see a different style from Johnson. Rightfully so coaches were using Tech's style against them on the recruiting trail, especially at the OL, and WR positions. They were having a tough time attracting lineman because of those bush league approach to "blocking". Apparently all the way up through the BYU game they were attempting a more conventional approach to blocking, but as you can see by their results it wasn't working. We happened to be the unlucky team that the cut blocks got brought back in full force against. Like you guys said something needs to be done about it. You shouldn't be allowed to dive at kids knees. What pi$$es$ me off even more is the chop blocks they constantly get away with. That's exactly what took out Raymon. It was clear as day in the replay he was engaged up top with a lineman when another dove at his knees and took him out. Absolute BS there wasn't even a penalty called on that. If the rule makers ever decide to penalize this Paul Johnson will be in some real trouble. Until then i hope opposing coaches continue to use this BS approach to blocking against him on the recruiting trail

Was watching New England and Pittsburgh and in the pro's when a defender is engaged by an offensive player, and a chop block occurs, its a 15 yard penalty, personal foul.

I'm pretty sure it's the same in the NCAA, the ref just missed the call (see a trend here in the ACC?).

I do...and that makes it two years in a row. Last year the BE did the best they could to give us a few going away gifts and this year it seems that the ACC refs are trying to stick to the new guy from the north.
