Jon Bol Ajak

I know nothing of his situation, but suspect he would need a green card and sponsorship, which are very expensive and extremely hard to get these. Hope he's ok and can find a job and home.

You would think the University might try to help Jon Bol. Homelessness among Syracuse alumni can’t be very common. The kid seems to be broke and struggling, and it doesn’t appear he has much in the way of family or friends. Providing some legal assistance or basic support would seem like a reasonable step.

I don't know anything about him specifically and have never met him but am assuming he grew up in a very traumatic environment, given where he is from. As a foster parent, you learn a lot about the long lasting effects of childhood trauma, and I wonder if that is rearing it's ugly head. Hopefully he has the chance to get help.

Does the city of syracuse have homeless shelters?

The article said he was at a detention center in PA. Not sure if that has changed in the past few days. Sadly, the likely outcome is that he's deported. To where? Who the hell knows?

I would think there is something available. My question would be, does he need some kind of therapy he's never received/knew he needed?
