Junior defensive end Chandler Jones, in his first game back after injuring a leg in the season opener against Wake Forest, earned Defensive Player of the Week for a six-tackle, two-sack performance against the Mountaineers and quarterback Geno Smith.

Wide receiver/kick returner Dorian Graham was named Special Teams Player of the Week for his 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. Graham's second-quarter effort was the first kickoff returned for a touchdown since Mike Holmes' 90-yard run-back against Pittsburgh in 2008. Graham also had five catches for 66 yards against West Virginia and was named the College Football Performance Awards' National Kick Returner of the Week.

Junior quarterback Ryan Nassib earned his sixth weekly honor roll award in the Big East. He might have been the offensive player of the week if not for huge numbers put up by Cincinnati quarterback Zach Collaros, who earned the top honor, and South Florida's B.J. Daniels.

Nice, but Nassib deserved the player of the week on offense. USF doesn't have the defense WVU has and Nassib had better numbers anyway.

Chan Jones was such a beast in that game. He was also verbally assaulting the WVU offense. I loved it.

Nassib should have received it for offense, for the reasons stated by Tomcat plus the two picks by Collaros. Perhaps the voters/decision-makers couldn't stomach SU claiming all three awards as deserved.
