Josh Gattis...

Best recruit in 2 months and he's not even a player

He was fired at both Miami and Maryland. Perhaps he just needs some seasoning under Nixon to reach his full potential. Clearly he must be close to have landed OC jobs at Michigan, Miami and Maryland...or he just likes schools that start with M.

Michigan fans seemed to have not liked him.

Yes. There seems to be a lot of McFit type of behavior too.

Ok. They're a tough crowd I guess. Won the Broyles in his last year, 2021. In their only regular season loss that year they had 556 yards of offense. I don't really know any Michigan fans though, but I assume they're just crazy like all fans. Present company included.

McFit is in a class all by himself. But Gattis downshifting from OC to a position coach would seem like a big win for us.

Michigan fans seem to be a bit out there, so maybe it should be taken with a grain of salt.

Apparently their O changed his last year there. The fans who didn't like Gattis claimed that Harbaugh was more involved and Moore (co OC) had a lot to do with the change too.

I just want to know how Fran pulled this off and what position he is going to be on the staff. It’s great to have Nixons replacement on staff already when Nixon does end up jumping to the NFL or a head coaching gig. Fran is always 3 steps ahead. It’s impressive tbh

We are a football school, that’s why. Everything is coming to a head in the next 5 years. We need to push now.

gotta think he will be some sort of an offensive assistant. Great recruiter. Would make a lot of sense for him to help out our young WR coach Myles White.

Did they formally announce the White hire?

ok, then what is Gattis going to do? Seems like too good a coach to just be an analyst or consultant.

A lot of guys take that role these days. I think they're paid pretty well and have plenty of input. Didn't Marrone just do it at BC? Alabama always seemed to have a consultant army of former top HCs or coordinators. Could mean less headaches too, although I'm just spitballing on that.

Analysts can actually coach now. The NCAA got rid of that rule 2-3 years ago. The only thing analysts can't do is visit recruits
