Me too. Colorado is my second home and I follow CU and CSU . JRS is very talented. Big strong and fast. If he had been healthy I believe he would be our top receiver hands down.I have watched too much Mountain West football living out here. I have been so bullish on JRS providing a physical presence at WR that this team desperately needs. When healthy, he's also a legit deep threat. Great game from him and hope he keeps getting healthier.
I didn't realize his hamstring was still bothering him at this point of the season.
The way he looked when he was running for that 55yd TD makes a lot more sense now.
Obviously a huge catch and run.
I just find that to be an interesting statement considering the same statement could have been made about Pena, and yet here we are with him as our leading WR putting up a 54/592/5 TDs receiving/1 TD rushing stat line so far this season.Hatcher is a redshirt junior, he is what he is at this point.
Like others before this post I disagree with your assessment. Gill and Hatcher are important parts of our receiving corps and have provided us with positive play and catches that have helped us move the ball towards the end zone. I would not give up on them just yet.Agreed.
Hatcher and Gill shouldn't play anymore as well. JRS is great big body good route runner solid set of hands. We get another year of him right?
Pena has struggled with injury. Hatcher struggles with caloric intake. I don't want Hatcher booted to the portal, but I think he's a second string WR at the P4 level and might end up there next season if Fran brings in another class of talented portal/hs receivers.I just find that to be an interesting statement considering the same statement could have been made about Pena, and yet here we are with him as our leading WR putting up a 54/592/5 TDs receiving/1 TD rushing stat line so far this season.
He's the 5th receiving option behind Pena/Meeks/Gadsden/Allen but has a starting spot because we don't have anybody else on the roster that plays his role. He's basically what you described.Pena has struggled with injury. Hatcher struggles with caloric intake. Hatcher has been here for a while and has shown that he’s soft, it’s not a small sample size. Nothing against him, Not everyone has the dna to be a fighter. It's so weird that we have fans that are so willing to give up on guys like this.
They don't make every play, but they do make plays that have contributed to winning. And they're developing, they're not finished products.
It’s called having a strained hamstring and toe issue.Ok, is it just me or does he run a little weird? On his long TD he looked to have an unusual gallop.
I'm not saying he's AET out there and you can just lob it out to him.Hatcher has been here for a while and has shown that he’s soft, it’s not a small sample size. Nothing against him, Not everyone has the dna to be a fighter.
While i don’t think Hatcher should be tossed to the scrap heap, the comparison with Peña is not a good one, as Peña has dealt with a ton of injury issues. The best comparison to Hatcher is Alford. As in, not enough good plays to offset the bad.I just find that to be an interesting statement considering the same statement could have been made about Pena, and yet here we are with him as our leading WR putting up a 54/592/5 TDs receiving/1 TD rushing stat line so far this season.
Let's not act like health was Pena's only issue though. General sentiment was he was a guy with a little wiggle that would make a play once in a while but would never be a featured part of the offense. While i don’t think Hatcher should be tossed to the scrap heap, the comparison with Peña is not a good one, as Peña has dealt with a ton of injury issues. Fair enough.Let's not act like health was Pena's only issue though. General sentiment was he was a guy with a little wiggle that would make a play once in a while but would never be a featured part of the offense.
And now he's our top WR and go-to guy to move the chains.
Supposing he had been healthy throughout his career, would we have anticipated that? I humbly submit we would not have.
We did have that person but he was lost in the phantom zoneI'm not saying he's AET out there and you can just lob it out to him.
I am saying that we don't seem to have anyone else that even seems capable of running that route and getting in position to try and make that play.
