Makes sense. Unless Coker seizes the MLB position [which I suppose is possible], moving Spruil inside makes sense. He already played there, and that would enable them to get the top three LBs on the field at the same time [Lynch, Davis, Spruill].

I just know it's a dilemma because Spruill wasn't the best at reading plays while in the middle. That's why its a point of emphasis on the recruiting trail. It's also why our defense struggled a lot in 2011.

I'm so concerned enough about the future of the MLB position that I once started a thread about moving Ashton to MLB! That post didn't go over too well.

Something has to happen there, but even if you look at the worst case scenario of moving Spruill back to the middle, then starting Davis and Lynch at OLB, though that's just a one-year solution, I think we'll be okay for 2013. It's beyond 2013 that has me concerned.

with this apparent gaping hole at the mlb spot you would think we would have some prospects jumping at the opportunity. at this point it looks like we would just be settling for someone. i thought cam lynch in the middle was solid. since missing on Walker, and any HS guys i'd rather see Lynch there, and make it a priority next year, while preparing someone on the roster now. Who that someone is is another question. I was excited for Washington at OLB. Depth may not be great next year, but I really like our top 4 as a core.
