Cliche-ridden, under-written characters, high CGI content: all the things I usually hate in film.

but I loved it anyway. not a great movie by any stretch, but great fun.

Doesn't hurt that Chris Pratt is the greatest movie star of his generation, able to transcend weak material with his charisma.

The sequels suffer from much of the same problems that the Jaws franchise did. Meaning there is only so much you can do different and in the end everyone knows the shark (or dinos) is going to eat folks.

That said I enjoyed it. I thought it was better than the 2nd and 3rd movies. Pratt is fantastic and despite the huge plot holes it was a fun film. It was also the first one my 10 year old got to see on the big screen so part of my enjoyment was watching him see the film.

all in all shocked at the money it is making.. yeah its a fun movie but that normally doesnt drive box office.. i think its like avatar/titanic in that its done so well people with no interest are going. its somewhat the anti super hero movie as well.
