Save this for halloween if you want a real scare.

Did I ever mention how much I detest Gerg for what he did to the program?

OK, I'll take this in an unpopular direction...

I know the diehards associate them with the worst football in history, but I think those uniforms look sharp. Throw some white outlining around the numbers, dial back the aggressive Block S on the helmets, and I'd call them pretty close to perfect. Better than what we wear now, better than the Nassib era (which are a little overrated in my book - too light on the orange), and better than the drop-shadow McNabb jerseys.

Good God...

Those were fun!

Actually, I tuned out pretty quickly during the Robinson era. Went to the West Virginia game, sat in the Varsity complaining about that ridiculous offense and this missed opportunity for a couple of hours afterward, and then I have virtually no memory of the rest of his tenure. I lived out of the area for that whole period and didn't have the chance to see a lot of the games.

That's a long-winded way of coming to this hypothesis: everyone who scoffs at those uniforms (and that seems to be 99% of the fans on this board) does so because they were a lot more invested than I was for a few years and they associate that look with losing games and becoming a laughingstock.

I'm not quite as burdened with that, I just think the aesthetics of those standard orange-blue-orange uniforms are objectively great: unlike the current costumes, they look like Syracuse; unlike the McNabb jerseys, they aren't laughably dated; and they're less washed-out and plain-looking than the 2012 ones that so many people like.

Those kind of stripes work with a light base, like White. See Duke/Colts. Or white stripes on a dark base. See Duke/Colts

Other than that, fugly.

Those uniforms make me want to punt my dog to the neighbors house.

Was it Breast Cancer Awareness day in the Dome?

Those were some rough years. And to think looking at the SU offense, Hogue, Fiametta, Taj Smith and Mike Williams all spent time in the NFL and 3 of the 4 were drafted.

Gerg's biggest personnel problems were the OL and QB. Plagued him all 4 years.

Those were our LSU style uniforms and I remember flying in for this game and being disgusted. I can't believe Dr. Gross gave Gerg a 4th year. He should have been gone after the 2007 season.

I honestly can't remember one era's uniform design from another unless I see a player from that era wearing them. I think those are ugly and it has nothing to do with our performance.

Our current uniforms could look great if they didn't look like they were trying too hard.

What twisted human being would put this entire game on the internet??? Children have access to it for cripe's sake.

It's like Grimm's Fairy Tales, meant to scare the out of kids to not wander off with strangers or go skipping through the woods alone.

Don't hire unorganized dopes. And when it's obvious they are in way over their heads, cut 'em loose ASAP.

Here endth the lesson.

I agree with your opening line!

Hard to believe but there were some pros out there that day - Mike Williams, Jameel McClain, Taj Smith, Arthur Jones, Joe Fields, et al.
